Liberation, Trauma, and Memorialization in Greece

This year, 2014, marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second
World War in Greece, and 12 October marks the 70th anniversary of the
Liberation of Athens. We wanted to note this anniversary with a paper
that would deal with the importance of the event and would explain the
peculiar absence of its official commemoration. We invited prominent
historian of the era, Tasoula Vervenioti, to offer us her thoughts on this matter.Read the essay
